Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Tony Dalton, founder of WeightLytic.

Before we talk about the app, I want to tell you why it exists.

If you look through the photos on this page, you'll see different versions of me over the years. The truth is, there aren't many photos. Like a lot of overweight people, I hated being in front of the camera. Most of these pictures are holiday snaps or family photos where I couldn't avoid being in the frame.

Looking back, that's quite sad. When you're unhappy with your weight, you don't just avoid mirrors — sometimes you avoid memories too.

For years, I struggled with my weight.

I tried SlimFast. Atkins. Low-fat diets. Meal replacement shakes. Calorie counting. Some worked for a while, but sooner or later the weight always seemed to find its way back.

The wake-up call

From 110kg to 83kg

Eventually I reached 110kg and was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. That diagnosis was the wake-up call I needed.

After researching my options, I started using Mounjaro. Combined with healthier eating habits, the results were incredible. My weight dropped from 110kg to 83kg. I had more energy, felt healthier and my blood sugar improved dramatically. For the first time in years, I felt in control.

But there was a problem many people using GLP-1 medications will understand.

Cost.

Mounjaro worked, but paying for it long term became difficult. Eventually I stopped treatment, convinced I could maintain the weight loss on my own.

Unfortunately, life had other plans.

The appetite slowly returned. Old habits crept back in. The weight started increasing again until I found myself back at 107kg.

That was one of the most frustrating moments of my life. Not because I'd failed, but because I knew exactly how much work it had taken to lose the weight in the first place.

Today

I'm back on the journey.

I'm currently trialling Retatrutide, eating a high-protein diet, swimming regularly and focusing on sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. In my first month, my weight dropped from 107kg to 98.1kg, and I'm continuing to work towards my goal.

Throughout all of this, I used countless weight-loss apps.

Some were good at counting calories.

Some were good at tracking exercise.

Some produced nice charts.

But none answered the question I cared about most:

"Am I actually on track?"

I didn't just want to know what happened yesterday. I wanted to know where I was heading.

  • How long would it take to reach my goal weight?
  • What would happen if I stayed consistent?
  • What impact would my calories, exercise and medication have over the next few months?

As someone who has spent more than 15 years building software and online platforms, I realised I had the skills to create the tool I wished I'd had throughout my own journey.

That's how WeightLytic was born.

WeightLytic isn't just another calorie tracker. It's designed to help you understand your progress, predict where you're heading and stay motivated when the journey gets difficult.

Most apps tell you what happened.

WeightLytic is designed to show you what's likely to happen next.

I'm still on my own journey. I'm still working towards my goal. And that's exactly why I'm building WeightLytic — for myself, and for anyone who's ever felt frustrated, overwhelmed or stuck trying to lose weight.

If that's you, welcome. You're in good company.
